Ho, Harlan double-winners at frosh states; N.K wins team crown

Woonsocket's Quinn Harlan and North Kingstown's Katarina Ho each had a pair of victories in Tuesday's Freshmen State Meet.

Ho, one of the state's top middle-distance stars, captured the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 28.30 seconds. She was also first in the 1,500m in a time of 4:52.30, a convincing 17-second ahead of her closest pursuer. The Villa Novans' Harlan took both sprint events, breaking the tape in the 100m dash at 12.4 and the 200m in 25.9.

North Kingstown earned the team title, compiling 85 points. La Salle Academy and Smithfield tied for second with 55 points. The meet was held at East Greenwich.

The Skippers also had individual triumphs from Brooke Osmonski in the high jump (4 feet, 8 inches), Camryn Wallace in the 300m hurdles (50.9) and the 4x400m (4:20.6) and 4x800m (10:04) relays. In the 400m, La Salle's Heidi Sakovitis blazed to a time of 1:03.10.
