The Amherst Invitational will feature freshmen, junior varsity and varsity races and will include 22 boys' teams and 21 girls' teams. Jonathan Allard of Keene High (NH) was the lone runner to break 16 minutes for the 5K course last year, winning the Varsity Boys' race at 15:59.20. With its five scoring members among the top eight, Lowell easily captured the team title with just 26 points. Lowell teammates Chris Palanco and Anthony Rodriguez finished 2-3 with a mere stride separation at the finish, posting times of 16:03.1 and 16:03.3, respectively. Amherst Pelham's Sophia Jacobs-Townsley captured the girls' varsity race in 18:24.40. Concord-Carlisle's Margot Ehrenthal was second at 18:31. With 54 points, Hopkinton took the team prize. Abigail Fisher was Hillers' top finisher, placing ninth overall at 19:52.2.
