Providence College past and present made their marks at the seventh annual Bobby Doyle Summer Classic on Sunday morning.
PC senior Ben Connor broke away from defending champion Sam Alexander the final mile en route to a winning time of 24 minutes, 4 seconds. Alexander took second at 24:16 and Matt Pelletier was third in 24:22. Heather Cappello, a 2002 Friar grad, claimed the women's title by finishing 16th overall with a time of 27:20. Another PC alumni, Katie Moulton, was second and 35th overall with a 29:45 clocking.
Bishop Hendricken senior-to-be Michael Potter was the top high school runner, placing ninth with a time of 26:18. The race had 463 finishers.
