Sawyer Yowder (East Greenwich) ran 2:01.51 in the 800 meters at the RITCA Boys Freshmen State Championships on May 26, improving from his previous best of 2:06.53 set in May 2026. The freshman placed second out of 60 competitors and ranks #24 in Rhode Island and #2 among freshmen.
Sophia DeSimone (Lincoln) clocked 11:53.62 in the 3000 meters at the RITCA Girls Freshmen State Championships on May 26, lowering her previous mark of 12:15.13 from May 2026. The freshman finished sixth of 10 competitors and holds the #53 ranking in Rhode Island and #10 among freshmen.
Eva Shumski (Portsmouth) ran 11:56.68 in the 3000 meters at the RITCA Girls Freshmen State Championships on May 26, improving from her previous best of 12:21.94. The freshman placed seventh of 10 competitors and ranks #50 in Rhode Island and #11 among freshmen.
