The boys 3200m at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions came to a down-to-the-wire finish on Sunday. In the final two laps, there were several different led changes.
With two laps to go Allentown High School's (NJ) Liam Murphy had the lead with Mendham High School's (NJ) Jack Jennings pushing around the outside. With a lap to go Cinnaminson High School's (NJ) Austin Gabay made a big move to take the led but on the backstretch, Murphy came flying back into the lead with a move Gabay wasn't able to respond to.
Then with a huge push and less than 100m to go, Jennings closed the gap on Murphy and ran with him all the way to the line. In the end, Murphy came away with his second indoor 3200m win running 8:58.16 with Jennings placing second in 8:58.19.
