Rhode Island weight-throwers turned in an awesome display of dominance in the Emerging Elite Hammer Throw during Day 1 of the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championships on Friday.
Highlighted by a victory from recent Classical High graduate Zeke Cohen, the Ocean State took six of the top seven placements. Cohen, who captured the state title two weeks earlier, won with a toss of 187 feet, 0 inches. Cumberland's Mark Coppolino was second with a heave of 182-10.
In the Freshmen Two Mile, La Salle Academy's Max DiMuccio added another title for R.I., winning with a time of 9:40.20.
