Donatien Djero was among of plethora of athletes that shined on Saturday at the annual Classical Classic.

The Central High sprinter captured the 100- and 200--meter dashes. In both races, the Knights' standout clocked national-caliber times. He won the 100m with a meet record and hand-held time of 10.20 seconds. He came back later to take the longer sprint with a fast 21.7 clocking.

La Salle Academy's Emily Kane was also a double-winner. The talented junior defeated Westerly's Randi Burr to break the tape in the 1,500m with a state-leading 4:40.20. Burr was second at 4:43.50. Kane came back and won the 800m where she was timed in 2:19.20.

East Greenwich turned in an impressive performance in the boys' 800m where it swept the top five placements. Junior Colin Cianciolo won the race at 1:58.70. He was followed across the line by teammates Cebastian Gentil (second, 1:59.20), junior Dante Prosseda (third, 2:00.70), junior Quentin Viera (fourth, 2:01.0) and senior Kyle Martinez (fifth, 2:01.10).

In the girls' 400m, Bay View's Aliya Barrows and Central's Rachel Mews both dipped under a minute with Barrows taking gold in 59.40 and Mews earning runner-up honors in 59.6.

Ponaganset's Gianna Rao (176 feet, 5 inches) and Woonsocket's Dilyn Cote (197-4) their respective hammer titles.
