Proud Weekend For R.I. At New Balance Nationals

We knew beforehand that this would be one of the most exciting races to watch this weekend. We predicted it would be a three-person race between DJ Principe, Noah Affolder (Carlise, Pa.), and Brodey Hasty (Brentwood, Tenn.) - three of the best distance runners in the country! It took a little more than a mile until it turned into a back-and-forth battle between the gifted trio, but it did.  And it certainly had The Armory rocking with one of the fastest two-mile races in the event's history. Hasty was able to break the tape at the end, winning with a time of 8:45.16. Affolder placed second in 8:46.08. Principe finished third, breaking his own state record by 12 seconds with a time of 8:47.40! His 3K split of 8:14.15, also established an R.I. mark.
