La Salle Girls Remain At Top Spot, Hendricken Boys Move To No. 1 In Final Coaches Poll

The final of three coaches polls conducted this season by the R.I. Track & Field Foundation has the Lady Rams from La Salle as top vote-getter, while Hendricken takes over the lead on the boys' side. In the girls' team voting, the Rams grabbed eight first-place votes and 114 points. In a finish for the second spot was North Kingstown with 106, followed closely by Portsmouth with 102 points, to round out the top three. East Greenwich and Toll Gate moved ahead of Barrington to grab the fifth and sixth spots. In the boys' voting, Hendricken grabbed five first-place votes and seven second-place votes for 113 points to dethrone La Salle from the top spot which they held in the previous two polls. La Salle had four first place votes for a total of 107 points. Central maintained its third place slot, while Woonsocket moved into 4th with 73 points. The State Indoor Championship will be held this Saturday, February 18th.
