Runners to Watch at the State Meet (Boys)

Sam Toolin, sophomore, North Kingstown

Unless something bizzare happens, we don't expect DJ Principe to lose this weekend. We also don't expect anyone, except Principe, to beat this Skipper sophomore for the runner-up spot. Toolin has proved time and time again in his young career that he always comes to race, especially when the stakes are at their highest. Last week, he proved he's ready for a fast one this weekend when he placed second at the Class A meet with a casual 16:06. As a freshman in 2015, Toolin was fourth overall behind the La Salle trio of Principe, Matt Bouthillette and Jack Salisbury. Bouthilette and Salisbury are now freshmen at Georgetown, moving Toolin up to the second fastest returnee. He will solidify that position on Sunday.
