Recent New England Distance Project runner Julian Saad claimed individual honors at the Run4Kerri Road Race. Saad edged Louis Sarafini by less than three seconds with his winning time of 19 minutes, 7.8 seconds for the four-mile course. Sarafini was clocked in 19:10.56 for second. Former Smithfield High all-stater and Providence College star Liam Hillery was third in 19:15.49. In all, six runners dipped under 20 minutes under a hot sun. Matt Pelletier, last week's victor at the Blessing of the Fleet 10M Road Race, was fourth in 19:21.38. East Greenwich's Nick Ross was fifth in 19:36.45 and soon-to-be La Salle Academy senior DJ Principe was sixth, averaging a crisp 4:57 per-mile pace wit a 19:47.33 clocking.

The women's division was copped by former Boston University standout Rosa Moriello, who was ninth overall in 21:39.58. Kaitlin Goodman of Providence, the early-race leader, was second and tenth overall in 21:43.63. Nevilla Ravena of Brighton, Mass., was third and 23rd overall in 24:05.33. Rounding out the top five was Leslie O'Dell (26th, 24:32.2) and former South Kingstown star Paige Ethier (28th, 24:45.33).

The race had 488 finishers. Cashing in on the $50 incentive for hitting the mile checkpoint first was eventual seventh-place finisher Will Sanders, who posted a time of 4:31, seven seconds ahead of the chase pack that included Saad, Sarifini, Ross, Principe and Pelletier. Placing eighth in the race was Matt Walker, who will be a junior at Westerly this fall. Walker  was timed in 21:10.62 (5:19 pace).
