OMG...What A State Meet!!!

Hawks Flying High Again

Jim Doyle has been around the coaching ranks since the late 1980s. He began by building a winning program at St. Raphael Academy and now at Bishop Hendricken. He's had his share of championship teams. He's witnessed his squads come together at just the right time and do what a true team does - WIN!  In what would classify as a total team effort, the Hawks got it all done on Saturday.  Demonstrating their outstanding depth, the Hawks racked up 96 points to defeat runner-up and 2015 titlist La Salle Academy by 15 points. Hendricken had just two victories - claiming gold in the 4x100-meter relay and Jon Celico in the pole vault. The Hawks were able to pull out the win over a very good La Salle squad by scoring in 16 of the 19 events.

"It was a great team win and I think it started right at the beginning of the year, right through the championship season. These guys have been plugging all season long and focusing on team results," Doyle said. "It was a complete team victory. We didn't score in only three events today. We emphasized to these guys how important it was to not lose focus."
