Since 1978, only one team has won the Class A title. That remained the same on Saturday as state meet contender Bishop Hendricken captured its 39th consecutive crown by defeating second-place North Kingstown, 128-101. The Hawks depth prevailed in the four-hour meet, placing at least one of their athletes (or relay teams) in 14 of the 19 events. Hendricken copped four events with Kwity Paye taking gold in the long jump, Joe Celico winning the pole vault, Derek Magno triumphant in the javelin and Mike Vitner beating the field in the high jump.
