It's Rams and Hawks at Divisionals!

Just as expected, La Salle Academy and Bishop Hendricken proved victorious in their respective division meets Wednesday night at the PCTA fieldhouse. The Rams held off second-place Central, 115-96, for the Metropolitan title, while the Hawks cruised to a 210-109 triumph over runner-up West Warwick for the Suburban crown.

La Salle's talented distance crew  swept the top three placements in the 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000 meter runs and also captured the meet-opening 4x800m relay. Senior Jack Salisbury, who anchored the relay squad with a 1:59 leg, also led his teammates in the 1,500m and 1,000m. Salisbury clocked a time of 4 minutes, 0.49 seconds in the metric mile. Bouthillette (second, 4:00.69) and Principe (third, 4:00.88) also dipped under 4:01. Salisbury also clocked a personal best of 2:31.48 (US #11) to take the 1,000m with Principe (second, 2:32.19) and Bouthillette (third, 2:32.63) right behind. Pincipe, Bouthillette and senior Alex Campagna went 1-2-3 in the 3K.

Central's Donatien Djero was a double-winner, breaking the tape in the two sprint events. He sizzled to a best of 35.86 in the 300m dash, edging East Providence's Alejandro Duarte (35.98) at the line. In the 55m dash, Djero was a stride ahead of La Salle's Sam Coleman with his time of 6.61. Coleman finished at 6,68. Djero was also part of the Knights' winning 4x200m squad, which moved up the national rankings to No. 14 with their time of 1:30.49.

Barrington senior  and nation-leader Bobby Colantonio continued his consistency in the weight-throw with a toss of 77-5. The Eagles' Mars Bishop was first in the 600m at 1:26.69. He also ran a PB of 4:01.63 to take fourth in the 1,500m, a placement he matched in the 1,000m where he was timed in 2:40.62.

Dominic Paralato led a Hendricken squad that had multiple scorers in nearly every event. Parlato earned his medals in the 3,000m and 1,500m where he was timed in 9:01.99 and 4:15.33, respectively. The Hawks' Connor Sheridan, a sophomore, broke the tape in the 55m hurdles (8.29). Senior Avery Ingegneri was first in the 1,000m and the Hawks' 4x400m and 4x800m relays also earned gold.

North Providence's Nathon Coogan clocked the state's fastest time in the 600m with a 1:24.11 effort. He withstood a neck-and-neck battle with eventual runner-up NIck Williams of Hendricken (1:24.33).

West Warwick junior Ivan Goretoy dominated the weight events, winning the shot at 46-11 and the 25-pounder at. 58.9.25.
