JACK SALISBURY
After missing most of the season with an injury, Jack made his debut on the cross-country trails at the Class A meet. Just as we expected, the Ram star came through with a fine performance, placing fifth overall in 15:51. Assistant coach Bill Myers indicated Jack's effort was just a "rust-breaker race to get the cobwebs out." In other words, expect an even better performance this weekend. The future Georgetown runner is one of the gutsiest athletes in the field and has that inner mental strength to get everything he possible can out of himself to ensure prosperity at the end. Often times the end result is a victory. Does he have enough to challenge his two teammates, DJ Principe and Matt Bouthillette, two of the top contenders for this year's crown? That may be a tough hill to climb, but don't count him out! Remember this multiple state champion has run a 4:06 mile and was the all-important anchor for two pressure-filled relays last year, La Salle's indoor national 4xMile victory and its historic DMR win at the Penn Relays Carnival. He knows how to perform at the biggest of meets.
