No. 4 - R.I. puts the hammer down at NBN

Rhode Islanders already knew that the Ocean State has some of the top high school weight-throwers.

At the New Balance Nationals, our little state let the rest the country know just how good we are inside the circle.

Barrington's Adam Kelly led a near R.I sweep of the hammer down in North Carolina. The recent Eagle grad claimed the individual title with a then-best of 241 feet, 7 inches. Right behind in second was teammate Bobby Colantonio at 236-1. Rhode Island populated the podium by also taking third, fifth and sixth with Moses Brown's Owen Russell (220-9), Barrington's Mike Alvernaz (198-3) and Woonsocket's Jared Briere (195-8), taking those spots, respectively.
