Haley Showalter and Adam Kelly threw Hammer Throw marks worthy of the U.S. All-Time List to highlight prep action at the Chicagoland Throws Series Elite Meet, held at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. this weekend.

Showalter placed sixth in the Elite Women's Hammer Throw competition with a personal best of 194-1, which not only bettered her U.S. No. 1 mark for the 2015 outdoor season but moved her up on the U.S. All-Time List from No. 8 to No. 7. Her previous personal record of 193-4 came more than one year ago at the Great Southwest Classic.

The Nike-sponsored Gwen Berry of the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) won the event in 228-4.

The win marked a breakthrough for Showalter, who has dominated the prep scene in the hammer throw event for the past two years but remained dissatisfied after failing to PR in winning the New Balance Nationals Outdoor and USATF Jr. Nationals championship titles. She will attend the University of Wisconsin next year.

Kelly, also a New Balance Nationals Outdoor champion in the hammer throw, posted his own breakthrough with his 243-1 mark to win the Elite Men's competition. The personal best moves him onto the U.S. All-Time List for the first time in his career, as he will graduate from Barrington, R.I. ranked No. 8 All-Time and No. 2 for the 2015 outdoor season.

No. 1 this year belongs to Kelly's teammate, rising senior Bobby Colantonio, who threw U.S. No. 7 All-Time 243-7 in May and whose ascent to the top of the hammer ranks has made for a fascinating rivalry between the duo this school year. Kelly defeated Colantonio at New Balance, though the younger thrower came back with a win at the USATF Jr. Nationals. Colantonio missed Chicagoland because he is currently in Cali, Colombia to compete at the IAAF World Youth Championships.

Kelly will compete for Princeton next year.
