Live Results Of Saturday's RITCA Invitational

LIVE RESULTS

Judging by the Performance Lists, several events could create some excitement at Saturday's RITCA Invitational.

Here's a quick sampling.

In the boys' 1,500-meter run, four of the runners entered have cracked 4 minutes, 10 seconds. La Salle teammates Max DiMuccio and Joseph dos Reis both have seed times of 4:04. North Kingstown's Sam Toolin (4:05) and Classical's Connor Murphy (4:10) are two other runners that could make this race come down to the final few meters.

One event that could be determined by a lean at the finish is the boys' 600m. This race features three that have broken 1:27 for the three-lapper - North Kingstown's Jack Perrault, Toll Gate's Nikolas Reygadas and 2016 state champion Harry Antone of Bishop Hendricken. Perrault could be the favorite in this event. This past weekend the Skipper junior clocked 1:56 for 800m at the BU Mini Meet.

In the girls' 300m, defending state champion MaryBeth Fitzsimmons (41.01) will match up against East Greenwich's Laura Murphy (41.33), who was a runner-up at last year's meet.

La Salle classmates Emily Kane and Grace Connolly as well as Westerly''s Randi Burr, top five finishers at the recent state X-C meet, will battle in the girls' 3K where a sub 10-minute clocking is possible at the Providence Career and Technical Academy field house.

Portsmouth's multiple all-stater and recent Nike Cross Nationals qualifier Nikki Merrill of Portsmouth will be competing in the 1,000m where her seed time of 2:59 ranks No. 1 in the state.

The meet begins at 12 p.m.
