Vineyard Invitational: Plymouth North, Shepherd Hill Make It Happen On Oaks Bluff

With four of its runners among the top 20  finishers, Shepherd Hill rolled to the team title at Saturday's eighth annual Vineyard Invitational. The Rams compiled 73 points, 30 point ahead of runner-up Woburn.

Shepherd Hill was fueled by the 2-3 finish of Rebekah James and Gabrielle Lawrence. Guilford's Meredith Bloss won the individual title with a time of 18 minutes, 34.18 seconds for the five-kilometer course on Oaks Bluff. James was timed in 18:46.03, while Lawrence crossed the line at 19:01.33.

Highlighted by a first-place finish from Nick McNamee, Plymouth North defeated runner-up Plymouth South, 76-123, for the boys' team title. McNamee clocked a fast, early-season time of 15:52.26. Teammate Bryan Ryder was fifth in 16:36.4.  Old Saybrook's Shane Henderson was second overall at 16:20.02.
