Massachusetts Cross-Country Runners To Watch: Patrick Craemer, St. John's High

Patrick Craemer, St. John's

The Pioneer senior is coming off a solid year on the trails and track. During the 2016-17 cross-country season, he was third at the Central Division Championships and placed fifth overall in the Division 1 race at the Division 1 All State Meet. Craemer is among a St. John's team that should be one of our leading contenders for a Div. 1 crown this fall so you know he'll be pushed in his workouts this season on a daily basis.

The St. John standout has an individual best of 4:27 for the mile, an effort that placed him second at the East Coast Invitational last December, behind teammate and recent grad Ben Kovacs. He was also part of the Pioneers' 4xMile Relay squad that earned All-American status by placing fourth overall. Craemer got things going with an opening 4:25 split.

Craemer is one of a handful of returning runners that broke 16 minutes for 5K last year. Now compound that with the fact that his team will be in the hunt for a Div. 1 state title and it's his final high school season. He certainly has plenty of motivation to excel this fall.
