Knights Break 4x400 Record At Eastern States

Chalk up another state mark for the talented Knights.

Competing in the Eastern States Championships in New York late Tuesday night, Central High eclipsed the 4x400-meter relay record. The quartet of Donatien Djero, Austin Wolo, Demetrius O'Connor and Chris Kolie combined for a winning time of 3 minutes, 21.87 seconds, a clocking that ranks No. 12 nationally.

Earlier this season at the Armory Track Invitational, the Knights broke the 4x200m state record at the same New Balance Armory as Tuesday's competition.

Djero and O'Connor were also fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200m dash with times of 22.17 and 22.18. Wolo was third in the 400m with a time of 49.27.

In the boys' 800m, North Providence's Nathan Coogan finished sixth overall with a time of 1:56.41.
