Quick Recap Of Class Championships

Fast times and all-out efforts weren't the priority at Saturday's Class Championships.

For most, this weekend's meet was one last tune-up for bigger and better things at next Sunday's State Championships (and beyond).

La Salle Academy senior DJ Principe cruised to his third straight Class A crown with a relatively-easy 15:39 for the five-kilometer terrain at Ponaganset. It was his first race since placing second at the Great American X-C Festival with a PR of 14:32. Ellie Lawler, the junior from South Kingstown, admitted she wasn't focused on the number on the finish-line clock and won the Class B title with a time of 18:17, nearly a minute slower than her best.

Here's a quick recap of Saturday's meet. Top 21 results courtesy of Bob Leddy of R.I. Track & Field Foundation.
