On back-to-back Fridays. MileSplit RI will be hosting a pair of cross-country meets.
The first is on Sept. 9 with its fourth annual Twilight X-C Relays. This unique event is held under the lights (provided by J.H. Lynch & Sons, Inc.) at Diamond Hill State Park in Cumberland. It features a series of 3xMile relays, including a freshmen/middle school race, Varsity 2 and Varsity 1 (seeded) race. The cost is just $40 per team (per gender) or $70 for entering a boys' and girls' team. Attractive medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each event. Just a week after the Twilight Relays on Sept. 16, we'll be back on the trails again with the Blackstone Valley Invitational, held at the scenic Cumberland Monastery. For the second straight year, the meet is open to ALL teams in the state. There will be JV and Varsity races (limit 10 runners in varsity race). Attractive medals will be awarded to top finishers and trophies to winning individuals and teams. The cost is only $35 per team (per gender) and $60 if entering a boys' and girls' team.
