Bobby Doyle 5M Summer Classic

Certainly a GREAT way to get an idea how your summer training has been going during the hot summer months is the Bobby Doyle Summer Classic on Aug. 14. a five-mile race that starts and ends at Narragansett Pier School. The race also offers a 3K walk. For the second straight year, the Doyle five-miler is part of the USTAF-NE Grand Prix series. In other words, the competition will be fierce up front. In last year's event, 16 runners dipped under 25 minutes in the men's race and 11 women averaged six-minutes per mile or faster on the scenic course. The Doyle race has been a great supporter of youth and high school running, distributing more than $50,000 over the last eight years.
