Class Meet Central

If you're a fan of Rhode Island track and field there will be plenty of it on Saturday.

All six of the class championships (boys and girls) will take place at three different locations - Class A at Coventry, Class B at Portsmouth and Class C at Ponaganset.

Bishop Hendricken will be aiming for its 40th consecutive Class A title. The Hawks again have depth on their side, but a few squads that can put an end to the streak are defending state champion La Salle Academy, sprint-heavy Central and always-tough North Kingstown. The girls' crown is up for grabs, too. La Salle, North Kingstown and Cumberland are a few that could come home with the hardware.

In Class B, the West Warwick boys will be looking to capture their  first class title since grabbing the 'C' crown in 1999. Barrington, Toll Gate, Pilgrim and South KIngstown could be duking it out on the girls' side.

The Class C meets will feature contending teams such as East Greenwich and defending state champion Smithfield going head-to-head for girls and Rogers and EG trying to make it happen for boys.
