State Meet Central (LIVE results)

For us at MileSplit RI, it might as well be Christmastime! The most exciting meet of the season, the State Meet, has arrived. All those weeks of hard training, all those weeks of fine-tuning for essentially ONE day for a good portion of our athletes, is here! The question now is what teams will step up, what athletes will come through with their PR performances? Those questions will be answered this Saturday when schools throughout the state congregate at the Providence Career and Technical Academy fieldhouse for five hours of the the most intense track & field of the indoor season.

Right now, La Salle Academy's boys and girls have the targets on their singlets. But it won't be easy.The boys' squad will be gunning for their third straight crown and will face formidable opponents such as always-lethal Bishop Hendricken, a speedy Central squad and other talented teams like Cumberland, North Kingstown and even West Warwick. On the girls' side, the Lady Rams are looking to win an unprecedented tenth consecutive crown. But don't count out teams like Classical, Cumberland and North Kingstown to make things interesting.

MileSplit RI will be at full force this weekend with a team that will include three photographers, a videographer and yours truly interviewing the winners and coaches on the most important time of the winter campaign. This week we'll try and get you amped up for the States with previews, Virtual Meets and even some BOLD predictions of what we feel will happen this weekend at the PCTA. We'll also have LIVE results.
