DJ PRINCIPE
Based on what he's done this season, including his impressive win at the Class A meet, DJ has to be considered the favorite to claim his second straight title. The La Salle junior is unbeaten against RI competition, capturing the Injury Fund Carnival and, this past weekend, coming five-seconds shy of the course record at the class meet where he ran a strong 15:19 clocking. DJ was also the fastest among all competitors at the Bowdoin X-C Classic in New York where he was timed in 15:44 on a very-tough 5K terrain in Wappinger Falls, NY. The Ram junior is a smart runner and has no problem adjusting his strategy to his competition. If the weather and race is right, look for DJ to possibly clock a time in the 15:10 range, In other words, the course record could be erased this weekend.
