The cancellation of one of the biggest invitationals on the east coast, the Great American X-C Festival, didn't completely ruin the weekend plans of the nationally-ranked La Salle Academy girls' squad. The Rams dominated the competition up in Maine for its annual Festival of Champions' meet. The Cumberland boys, behind another stellar performance from Ben Drezek, fell just 42 points of making it a clean sweep for Rhode Island in the team competition. At Vermont's Thetford Academy, site of next month's New England Championships,several R.I. teams competed in the Woods Trail Run.
