La Salle Academy took four of the top five placements to coast to the team title at the Maine Festival of Champions on Saturday. The Rams defeated second-place Orono, Me, by a convincing score of 30-120. Cumberland was third with 141 points.
La Salle senior Eliza Rego earned individual honors with a time of 18 minutes, 5.58 seconds. She was followed by Karina Tavares (second, 18:29.27), Grace Connolly (third, 18:36.60) and Emily Kane (fifth, 18:50.33).
In the boys' competition, defending champion Cumberland was second with 162 points. Scarborough, Me., won with a score of 120. Ben Drezek paced the Clippers, taking third overall with a time of 16:12.25.
