What's on Tap this Weekend!

This weekend begins the start of several major meets that our Rhode Island teams will be participating in this cross-country season.

On Friday and Saturday at Goddard State Park, teams throughout the northeast region (and beyond) will compete at the popular Ocean State Invitational. The two-day meet begins with middle school races on Friday and high school events on Saturday.

The middle school schedule includes separate sixth, seventh and eighth-grade races, starting at 3:45 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 6:10 p.m. The following day, 14 high school races, including freshmen, junior varsity and varsity, will take place between 9 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. The featured Championship races will be held at noon and 12:35 p.m.

MileSplit RI will have Virtual Meets of some of the top races at the Ocean State Invite and a list some of the best individuals that will be lacing up their racing flats. We will also have on-site coverage, providing results, video race footage and interviews and more than 1,000 photos!

Also on Saturday, East Greenwich and La Salle Academy will join a quality field in upstate New York for the ninth annual Bowdoin Park Cross-Country Classic at Wappingers Falls. This is the first time that teams will compete on this challenging five-kilometer layout, which is the site for the the Nike Northeast Regionals in November. In last year's meet, the La Salle boys finished second to New Jersey power Christian Brothers Academy in the Varsity 2 race. CBA will be back to defend its title.
