Highlights, Photos of Class Championships

After more than nine hours of track and field, six schools earned team titles at the class championships on Saturday.

On the boys' side, Bishop Hendricken (Class A), Barrington (Class B) and Rogers (Class C) took home the hardware. La Salle Academy (Large Schools), Toll Gate (Medium Schools) and Smithfield (Small Schools) were the winners for girls.

Several top-level performances were achieved inside the Providence Career and Technical Academy field house. La Salle junior Eliza Rego moved up to No. 5 in the national rankings by breaking the tape in the 1,500-meter run with an indoor best of 4:38.33.Senior teammate Sheridan Wilbur is also at No. 5 with her first-place time of 10:07.37 in the 3,000m.

In the boys' 1,500, senior Abdullah Kaba of Cumberland now ranks sixth nationally with his victorious 4:07.99 effort in the Class A meet..
