League Season Has Arrived!

The league season officially started Monday night at the Providence Career and Technical Academy field house with teams from the Dwyer and Bayha divisions occupying the oval.

North Kingstown's Katerina Ho, Woonsocket's Quinn Harlan and Wheeler School's Lily Foulkes were all double-winners in their respective meets.

Ho, a soccer player during the fall months, held off Cumberland's Amy Laverty in the 1,500m with a time of 5 minutes, .07 seconds. Laverty finished less than a second behind at 5:00.96. In the 1,000m, the NK sophomore cruised to a comfortable 3:08.99 clocking.

Cumberland's Nichole Barger, the state's top returnee for the 600m, look smooth and relaxed in winning her specialty with a quick 1:42.52 effort. Junior Bethany Nunnery of North Kingstown took the 3,000m at 10:36.19. Barrington freshman Grace Connelly was second at 10:49.52.

Foulkes was never challenged in earning her two victories. She was timed in 5:06.16 for the 1,500m and 3:16.93 for the 3,000m. For Woonsocket, Harlan garnered a pair of firsts in the 55m (7.55) and the 300 (45.03).
