Oregon, Here We Come!!!

(Members of the La Salle Academy boys' cross-country team await their flight for Portland, Oregon for the Nike Cross Nationals.)

They're off!!!

La Salle Academy boarded its plane to Portland, Oregon Wednesday night for a possible history-making event for Rhode Island high school cross country. No school has ever won a national championship and right now the boys from La Salle have a legitimate chance. The squad of Jack Salisbury, Matt Bouthillette, D.J. Principe, Jake Grundy, Dan Paiva, Chris Notarianni and James Placco are one of the favorites to bring home a team title at the Nike Cross Nationals on Saturday.

The recent NXN Northeast Regional champions will not be alone. Also making the cross-country trek is the girls' team of Sheridan Wilbur, Eliza Rego, Karina Tavares, Audrey O'Neill, Elise Papazian, Michele Renzi and Cianna Lynch. The Lady Rams, who earned an at-large bid, are certainly worthy of a spot on the starting line at the Glendoveer Golf Course.

Don't forget, MileSplit will be on site taking care of all the action. Below you'll find links to all the important information you need to know about NXN. From previews to feature stories to predictions. Check it out!
