ENTRY FORM COACHES INSTRUCTIONS MEET DETAILS
Okay…now it’s official!
After two changes the last few weeks due to some conflicts, the date of this year’s second annual MileSplit RI Twilight X-C Relays has been set for Wednesday night, Sept. 10 at Tucker Field.
Last year’s inaugural event was a big success with 350 athletes competing in the nighttime meet. We hope to continue that trend next month.
At the request of most coaches, this year’s Relay will NOT be a 3x2 mile event. ALL races will be a 3x1 mile relay. Right now we are also in the process of incorporating middle-school teams into the meet.
Tentatively the schedule will begin with the middle school races and start with the high school events at 6 p.m. with a pair of freshmen races followed by two varsity and two elite races. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams and ribbons to the first three.
This is a fun event and a great way to kick-off the cross-country season. There is nothing better than running under the lights. To add to the excitement of the nighttime event, we will have DJ Dean Williams playing your favorite tunes. T-shirts will also be available and there will also be a concession stand.
MileSplit RI will also be in full force. Ace photographer Raphael Bieber will be snapping away, taking photos of all the races (and a little more). We’ll also have our video camera rolling and will provide stories and results of the meet.

Again, the date is Wednesday, Sept. 10 with high school races tentatively scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and middle school starting at approximately 5 p.m. We will have details on registration within the next few days.
